A Big Welcome, My Bonafide Peeps!

First off, thank you for visiting.

Mi casa, tu casa — my website is your website.

Make yourself at home.

Get comfortable. Grab some snacks, a cup of coffee, a cup of tea, or maybe just a glass of water with a slice of lemon.

If you're here because you're thinking about starting your own house cleaning business, let me first say:

CONGRATZ!

Wanting to become your own boss is a big step.

And if one of your reasons is because you want more control over your time, your schedule and the kind of life you're trying to build, I understand that.

That was important to me too.

But I also want to prepare you for something.

Starting a cleaning business is not only about knowing how to clean.

There is a business behind the cleaning.

And that is exactly what I want to help you understand.

Welcome to My Free 9-Day Starting Guide

I created:

Start Your House Cleaning Business in 9 Days — Step-by-Step Starting Guide

Each day has lessons.

Most of those lessons are blogs based on things I personally experienced during my 18+ years running a house cleaning business.

Smiling woman at a desk in a cozy home office holds a mug; blog promo text says Welcome to my Blog and cleaning business journey.

Many of my blogs also include a complete video version.

Some videos are created in a business-presentation style with:

  • Visual aids

  • On-screen text

  • Examples

  • Step-by-step explanations

  • And audio you can listen to

That means you can learn in the way that works best for you.

You can:

Read and take notes.

Watch and listen.

Or simply listen while you're doing something else.

I'm not trying to make business complicated.

I'm trying to explain things in a way that is simple enough for you to understand and actually use.

Why I Created This

Today I hear people say this all the time:

"Just start!"

Just start the business.

Just write the book.

Just start the blog.

Just start selling.

Just start cleaning houses.

Just start this.

Just start that.

And sometimes they'll say:

"You'll thank me six months from now."

I understand what they mean.

Sometimes we do overthink things.

But this is how I personally feel:

The work — most of the work — is simple. The start is the struggle.

House cleaning itself can be simple.

But when you don't know how to begin the business, those simple steps can feel confusing.

Where do I find clients?

What do I charge?

What supplies do I need?

How do I give an estimate?

What if a client complains?

How do I keep track of my money?

How many houses should I clean?

Do I need help?

How far should I drive?

That is where the struggle can start.

I know because I went through it.

We Knew How to Clean — But We Didn't Know How to Start

When I first started my business over 18 years ago, I started with a coworker.

We both knew how to clean our own homes.

We weren't afraid of hard work.

But we also knew something else:

We really didn't know how to start a house cleaning business.

So we asked two different people we knew who already owned cleaning businesses if we could work with them for one day.

For free!

We weren't asking them for their clients.

We simply wanted to help them clean for a day so we could see how they cleaned inside a client's home.

Both of them told us:

"No."

They didn't trust anyone around their clients.

And you know what?

We understood.

But that still left us asking:

Now what?

We had to start figuring things out ourselves.

And that is one of the reasons I created this course.

I want to share what I learned along the way so hopefully your start does not feel quite as confusing as ours did.

This Is Your 9-Day Road Map

As you move through the course, this is what you will be learning.

Days 1 & 2 — Think & Plan

Learn whether a house cleaning business is right for you.

Start thinking like a business owner.

Create a simple plan.

Understand your expenses.

Learn how to start calculating what a cleaning job really costs you.

Day 3 — Learn to Work With Clients

Learn about:

  • Customer service

  • Communication

  • Difficult clients

  • Complaints

  • Boundaries

  • Scheduling

  • And building relationships with good clients

Days 4, 5 & 6 — Learn to Find Clients

Learn simple marketing methods you can actually use.

You'll see things I've personally done, including:

  • Local marketing

  • Homemade flyers

  • Seasonal advertising

  • Referrals

  • And other ways to find clients without trying to market everywhere at once

Day 7 — Learn to Track the Money

Learn simple bookkeeping.

Income.

Expenses.

Mileage.

Receipts.

Profit.

And how to keep your business numbers organized without making everything complicated.

Day 8 — Learn to Manage the Work

Learn how to:

  • Organize your cleaning days

  • Manage your calendar

  • Protect your time

  • Save energy

  • Keep jobs closer together

  • And know when you may need help

Day 9 — Learn Your Cleaning System

Here I share cleaning tips, tricks, products, supplies and cleaning patterns I have used over the years.

But remember:

You don't have to clean exactly like me.

Use products you understand.

Use methods you trust.

Learn from my experience.

Then create a cleaning system that works for you.

Crawl Before You Walk

One thing I don't want you to do is look at all nine days and think:

"I have to know all of this before I can start."

No.

That's not what I'm teaching.

I'm teaching you to:

Crawl before you walk.

One step.

Then the next step.

Then the next.

You don't have to know everything.

You just need to understand what comes next.

And as your business grows, some of these lessons will make even more sense because you'll start experiencing them for yourself.

I'm Sharing What Took Me 18+ Years to Learn

I made mistakes.

I learned from clients.

I learned from workers.

I learned from pricing jobs wrong.

I learned from losing clients.

I learned from having great long-term clients.

And I learned that having more work does not always mean you have a better business.

My goal here is not to tell you:

"Do everything exactly like I did."

My goal is to show you what I learned so you can look at it, understand it and decide what makes sense for your own business.

Because your business should fit your life.

Not the other way around.

So, Welcome!

Read.

Watch.

Listen.

Take notes.

Come back when you need something again.

Mi casa, tu casa — my website is your website.

I hope something from my 18+ year journey helps make your own starting journey a little less confusing.

And honestly?

If something I've learned helps even one person start with a better understanding of this business, then sharing my journey was worth it.

Ready? Let's Start.

You don't need to do everything today.

You just need to take the next step.

Day 1 — Think & Plan

Start here and begin building your business one simple step at a time.

Happy Business!

All the best on your boss journey.

You Got This!
